Temporary Graduate VISA (Subclass 485)

The 485 visa allows eligible international graduates to:

🔹 The 485 Visa currently has 2 main streams:
📘 Post-Vocational Education Work Stream
This stream is for graduates with qualifications linked to occupations in demand in Australia.
✅ Stay up to 18 months
✅ Requires a nominated occupation on the skilled occupation list
✅ Positive skills assessment required
🎓 Post-Higher Education Work Stream
This stream is for graduates who completed an eligible higher education qualification in Australia.
Typical visa durations:
✅ Bachelor Degree – usually up to 2 years
✅ Master by Coursework – usually up to 2 years
✅ Master by Research – usually up to 3 years
✅ PhD / Doctoral Degree – usually up to 3 years
📌 Additional stay periods may apply for:
• Eligible Indian nationals under AI-ECTA
• Regional graduates
• Hong Kong & BNO passport holders
📌 General Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be under 35 years of age (Under 50 for Master by Research or PhD graduate)
• Must apply while holding an eligible visa within the required timeframe
• Must meet the Australian Study Requirement (minimum 2 academic years)
• Must meet English language requirements
📌 English Requirement:
✔ IELTS: Overall 6.0 (minimum 5.5 each band)
✔ PTE Academic: Overall 55 (Listening – 40, Reading – 42, Writing – 41, Speaking – 39)
Other Acceptable Language Tests are:
CELPIP General, LANGUAGECERT Academic, MET, OET, TOEFL iBT
